Adonis - you are so far off base, you're not even really in the game. Yes, the Golan Heights were captured in the Six Day War in 1967, after years of shelling of the Galil by the Syrians, and only a few days into the war did Israel respond to Syria's one-sided war in defense of the farmers who could not safely till their fields. Ergo - the Golan Heights were captured in a defensive war. Regarding peace - if Syria ever has a peaceful, long-lasting, relationship with another neighboring country, Israel should then maybe reconsider negotiating - on its own terms.

Kennedy - Carter's access to data and his traveling experience do not lead to the conclusion that he has any grasp on international relations. He continues to make a fool of himself with his misguided, nay - harmful, quixotic ventures around the world. He is wrong, time and again, so regardless of his experience and access to data, I posit he has no relevant grasp on international relations whatsoever.

B"H

Pray tell, where does Kennedy live?

I have lived in Israel for 11 years, 3 of which in Binyamin and 4 in Efraim {which you probably know as Samaria}.

I can tell you that LB is right on target.

Although I happen to like peanuts, and would not mind getting JC's advice on growing them.

So, with all of JC's experience, how did he come up with these views? Good question.

Possibilities include involvement with the crazy and power hungry Council of Foreign Relations, dedicated to Israel's destruction, belief that only a world government can bring lasting peace, and thus is working with the UN to secure its original 1947 partition plan. or religious convictions.

The possibilities are endless.

This comment about peanut farming is very appropriate. Cater did a terrible job as president of the USA and is attempting to put his nose into places not only were it doesn't belong, but also where he is attempting to grind his axe. Carter has an agenda. He recent book proves this point. His agenda is clearly anti-Israel and maybe even anti-Jewish.

Your comment about "some fella writing a blog" is even more insulting than your unintelligent accusation. Jimmy let his alcoholic, beer drinking brother make a fool of him on the world stage and now Jimmy is doing it to himself, all by himself!

I call on Jimmy Carter to return to his peanut plantation and stay there!

LB - welcome back.

"He uttered yet another gem, showing his still has no understanding of world affairs, let alone the Middle East"

Considering he has actually travelled the world extensively, is privy to CIA information when he pleases, was the president of the most powerful nation on Earth and is extremely well connected to statesman and members of important international organisations such as the UN I posit he may have somewhat of a better grasp on international relations than some fella writing a blog. I'm don't want to have a go at you personally, I just don't think you should disrespect him so easily. You can disagree with him, but such comments as above and the peanut thing at the end seem a little petty.

I doubt that your understanding "on world affairs" surpasses Carter's. The Golan heights were not captured in a defensive war; it was captured in 1967 if you know the "affairs". Yes, peace is not possible in the Middle east if Syria is not part of it; so better negotiate with syria and let us stop aggravating our conditions.
