in israel its not that easy but according to expierence of russia privatization can work. for example some village zones can be privatizated by israeli citizens and center of the country and historically important land (like zfat) can be privatizated for just 59 years and aftewards goes back to country.

While I agree with the assessment that piecemeal selling of sovereignty is horrible, housing costs rising is a simplistic argument. Artificially depressing costs of land/housing bellow market equilibrium causes rationing, shortages, wait lines and corruption. Land ends up being under developed. I suspect this is why Bibi is pushing this agenda. You can read about what happens with rent controls. You can safely substitute without loss of generality any mention of "US" with Israel/ILA and "rent" with price of land. I agree that the benefits of market efficiency are not worth the price of losing a country. I doubt many Israelis would want to see Saudi Arabia buy a few dozen billion dollars worth of land.
